Wood Doors - The Ups and Downs of Wooden Doors

When you enter a house most people don’t think about the different kinds of wood doors it contains. Today different there are thousands of different doors manufactured and they are generally classified into two types: interior wood doors and exterior wood doors.

What makes interior wooden doors different from exterior wooden doors. Interior wood doors are fabricated differently than exterior wood doors. The construction is different and exterior doors have more emphasis put into weathering the elements, therefore they are much heavier than interior wood doors. Functionality of a wood door also determines how it appears and how it is manufactured. If say, the door is a security door, then it will be solid, and strong, this will be a very heavy door wood door . If the door is built to allow light in then it will also contain glass, as in a sliding door, or a French door. If ventilation is needed in the area then the door will probably have louvers. Of course, if a wood door is to be used only to separate rooms then the builder or owner may decide to install hollow core wood doors. Exterior doors are used as sliding door, patio doors, wood back doors, French doors and entry wood doors. Interior doors comprise; sliding wooden doors, bi-fold doors, multi fold doors, hinged doors, bypass sliding glass doors, and pocket doors.
